FAQ's

Initial Treatment - What Can I Expect?
Initial treatment with Nichole takes 45 minutes to an hour. Nichole will initially ask questions, and then this is followed by a thorough biomechanical assessment to determine the cause of you pain. From here Nichole spends time explaining and helping you understand the reasons for your pain, and forms a treatment plan. Treatment will usually include a combination of 'hands on' manual therapy and home exercises, so you can learn methods of reducing your own pain. Please wear suitable clothing such as shorts so Nichole is able to adequately assess your injuries. If your injury is running related, please bring your running shoes to be included in the initial assessment. Please bring any test results (such as X-rays or scans) or reports from specialists with you to your appointment.
Follow Up Appointment's
Follow up appointments are usually 30 or 45 minutes depending on your problems. Treatment will usually include suitable manual therapy ( such as massage or joint mobilisation) and also a progression of exercises to help stretch or strengthen muscles that may be contributing to your symptoms. Where possible Nichole will also provide ideas to help you treat your own pain.
Why Does My Back Always Go 'Out'?
Bones do not generally go out of place. However, there are times when certain joints can become extremely resricted and painful. This can be a result of injury or sometimes be a result of some muscles in our body being too tight and others too weak. Treatment to the bones and joints will help relieve your pain, however exercise to the right muscles is often needed to stop the problem coming back. A combined approach to treatment can create optimal long-term results.
What Is Muscles Energy Technique?

MET is a gentle and specific osteopathic technique. It is a biomechanical approach for the treatment of tight joints, that uses specific joint positioning and your own muscles energy to help restore movement.
What Is Pilates?
Joseph Pilates developed Pilates in the 1920's. It is a form of exercise that focuses on building the strength and endurance of our small inner muscles: - our core postural muscles. These muscles are essential in holding our joints together as we move in day-to-day activities. Without our inner stability muscles our joints are prone to repeated injury. Pilates is not a cardio-fitness workout or a power muscle workout. Nichole combines pilates with functional rehabilitation exercises which helps integrate stability training into our daily work and sporting life.
What Is Craniosacral Therapy?
The origins of Craniosacral Therapy come from Cranial Osteopathy. CST is a gentle hands-on technique where the therapist will gently mobilise (using a very light touch) and release the craniosacral system. The craniosacral system includes the soft tissue of the head (cranium), the spine down to its tail end (the sacral area) and the pelvis. Nichole can combine CST with traditional physiotherapy techniques, which can be a gentle and effective treatment for headaches, jaw (TMJ) pain, neck and back pain.
